Nude Acrylic Set | Behind the Instagram

This set was so pretty. I did this on myself some months back. It is a super short coffin style nail with some colored acrylic and blingy gems!

I love this nude acrylic from Nova Nails (http://novainc.bigcartel.com) The owner of the store opens the store sporadically, but her acrylic powders are amazing! I have a few different nude acrylic powders. This one is one of my favorites since its just a classic nude color.
Check out her YouTube channel here: NovaNailsInc

To spice up the basic nude nails, I added some free hand art using a white nail polish stripper. To add some bling and glow I used some gorgeous swarovski gems. I'm pretty sure I got the gems off amazon. There are so many sellers that you can get those from. I attached those to my nail with the Nova Inc. nail glue.
The final step is to apply a topcoat to the nails, and I used a gel topcoat to make the nails extra shiny and to make sure the design stayed on the nails much longer.

Perfect At Home Manicure Every Time

My Perfect at Home Manicure

I love getting my nails done. But it does get pricey going to the nail salon every 2 weeks to get a fill. So I started painting my own nails at home, but they would chip and smudge right after applying. Over the years of trial and error, I have finally figured out a way to get my nail polish to stay nice, shiny and without a chip for up to a week and a half. I have been really loving this method of applying my nail polish, it's a little time consuming but I grab my iPad and watch one of my favorite shows on HuluPlus, and I have a mini spa day.
Here is how I get my perfect at home manicure!

Check out the video here: Perfect At Home Manicure Every Time!

You will need the following things:
Nail polish remover
Cotton balls
Nail file
Nail buffer cube
Cuticle cream
Cuticle pusher
Nail polish
Top coat

You can get all these things from pretty much any drugstore or a Sally Beauty Supply Store.

The first thing I do is remove the old nail polish. I use a regular cotton ball and a CVS brand nail polish remover.

Then I use a little cuticle cream, I like the cuticle cream from Avon, and let it sit for a while before I start removing the cuticle from the nail.
I always remove the cuticle from the nail, just because I think the nail polish looks much better. If you get nail polish on your cuticles it can make the nail polish chip and come off much faster.

I use the cuticle pusher to push the cuticle off the nail. I use the cuticle nipper when there is a lot of extra skin, I just cut it off gently.

Then I use a regular nail file to shape my nails. I like them squared off. But you can do it however you like.

Once they are all shaped perfectly and there isn't any extra skin on my nails, I use the nail buffer cube on the surface of the nail. I do this step because this is what makes the nail polish "grab" the nail. The nail polish lasts longer on the nails when you do this step.

After that I use a cotton ball with a little nail polish remover to get all the dust and any cuticle cream that might have been left on the nail.

This is when I start painting my nails. I pick the color that I want and I start with my pinkie nail. I try not to have too much or too little nail polish on the brush. If you have too little polish the result will be streaky, but if you have too much it will be a gooey mess and it will take FOREVER to dry.
I usually put on two coats of nail polish. While one hand dries I do the other hand.

Note: I don't use a base coat on my nails because this makes the nails chip, since the color polish would be going onto a super smooth surface.

Once the color polish dries, I check to make sure there isn't anything messed up. And then I go in with the top coat. I do two layers of the top coat to give it the super shinny effect. I'm not into the whole matte nail polish trend.

And that's it! It is pretty simple, but a little time consuming.
This method gives me about a week and a half of amazing nail polish.

How I Highlight & Contour My Face

Highlighting & Contouring Tutorial

Hey guys,

One of my favorite things to do is to highlight and contour my face with makeup. I love it. It is an easy way to change your face shape. I have a pretty round face so I like to make my cheeks and jaw line more sculpted by contouring, and this is all possible with the magic of makeup.

Highlighting is when you use a product a few shades lighter than your skin tone to lighten certain parts of your face. Highlighting is to make things lighter, which brings more attention to those places.

Contouring is when you use a product a few shades darker than your skin tone to help recede the parts you don't want to bring attention to. You darken certain parts of your face giving the illusion of depth or shadows.

In this video I'll show you how I personally like to highlight and contour my face shape to make it less round. I hope this video is helpful!
