CVS Makeup Haul | March 2016

I stopped by CVS this past week because I was determined to get some new makeup. Do you ever feel like you just need to buy some new stuff? Well it had been too long for me. I don't even remember the last time I just bought some makeup for fun.

I visited CVS near my house and spent like an hour just looking at all the stuff they had. I wanted to share with you the makeup I picked up. Some of the stuff I just needed as replacements, but I also got a few things that I had never tried out before.

Starting off with foundation, I got 2 of my favorite foundations ever the L'Oreal True Match foundations. I got the shades W3 and W4.  I also picked up the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion foundation. Lastly for foundation I got another one from L'Oreal the Infallible Pro-Matte. Those last 2 I have never tried, I might even do some reviews on those!
Next few things I got are also for the face. I picked up my all time favorite concealer, the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. I wanted to get more of those to stock up, but they literally had the one I got and 3 of the really dark shades.
I also got a couple of primers I had never tried before. The first one is the L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer. I also got the Maybelline Master Prime. I am really excited to try some primers that are not silicone based.

I also had to get one of my staple product, these are the best that I have tried. The Neutrogena Makeup Removing wipes. And another product I had never tried before, this is the Maybelline Master Fix Makeup Setting spray.
This is probably what I am most excited about, the CVS brand Facial Cleansing Power Brush. I have been wanting one of these for the past few years, but I really couldn't justify spending all that money on a Clarasonic brush. So when I saw this one at CVS for only $20, I decided this was my time to try it out. I'll probably be doing a review on this product once I have used it more.
One of the best parts of this little shopping spree is these liquid lipsticks that I found. These are the NYX Liquid Suede lipsticks and the NYX Lingerie lipsticks. I have been wanting some more liquid lipsticks since I tried the ones from Kat Von D. But again the price tag for the ones sold at Sephora is just a little too much, especially if you want all the shades.
So when I stumbled across these I figured I had to try them. These are less that $12 and I love them! I got 4 of the Lingerie ones and then 6 of the Liquid Suede lipsticks.
These are for sure going to have their own blog post review. I might even make a video because I am so excited about them!
A few of the other things I got from NYX are these brow products. I got an eyebrow gel in Brunette. I really am excited to try this out. I also got the Tinted Brow Mascara. It has been a while since I used any sort of eyebrow setting gel and I wanted to get back into it. Especially the days when I don't want to wear too much makeup.
Another fun thing I am very excited to try is the NYX Wonder Stick. This is a cream highlighting and contouring stick. I got the neutral shade that says it is supposed to be universal.
The last few things I got are some lash stuff. First off is this L'Oreal Liquid Liner. I have been obsessed with using pen liquid liners so I want to give this a try.
I also got a couple of mascaras. Of course I got a replacement Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara. I absolutely love this mascara. Then I also got the L'Oreal Voluminous Flase Fiber Lash mascara. I feel like I've tried this before but I really can't remember, so I wanted to give it another try.
Lastly I got 2 of the Ardell Demi Wispies False Lashes. I have never tried these before. I know everyone on YouTube raves about these lashes, so I wanted to try them out and see what all the hype is about.
That is it for this haul! I am really excited to try some new makeup out! I will definitely be doing some reviews on some of these products!

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color Review

L'Oreal Lip Color Review
Hey guys,

I wanted to write this quick review on the L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color. I have the color 106 Fuchsia Orchestra and I purchased it at my local Walmart for about $10.
I had never tried this product but I had to buy it if only for the color. It is the most beautiful fuchsia I have ever seen. It is a gorgeous color.

The packaging is a little weird, the larger part is where the lip color is and the skinnier part is the applicator.
This lip product looks like a lip gloss, it has the same texture and consistency as most lip glosses. The only difference is that this product has the pigmentation of a lipstick. It is super smooth when being applied. The product is very comfortable on the lips, and the lasting power is beyond amazing.

I usually apply this product on early in the morning and it's very shiny at first. After a about an hour or so, it kind of dries but it still is very comfortable. It doesn't dry out my lips, and the product doesn't crack or bleed. The color stays on my lips for close to 8 hours, which blows my mind.

I really have nothing bad to say about this lip product. I recommend this product if you want something long lasting and pigmented.

I really love this product, and I loooove the color.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Balm Review

My thoughts on the Color Riche Balm
Hey guys!

I hope you are having an awesome week! For today's blog I wanted to write a quick review on the L'Oreal Color Riche Lip Balm.

I have the color 518 Tender Mauve. I purchased mine from CVS, but you can also find it here: Loreal Color Riche Balm

Let me start by saying that I love this color. It is one of those "my lips but better" kind of color. It is a very sheer dusty rose, pink color and it has a tiny bit of rainbow shimmer in it. Nothing too crazy, it just gives a nice shine.
I initially thought this was a lipstick, because all the L'Oreal lip products look the same. But it is a balm.On the L'Oreal Paris website it claims that this lip product will "provide a hint of luscious, kissable color, smoothing lips instantly and for a fill 8 hours of continuous hydration. Lips are softer and more supple all day long, and keeps conditioning even after it's been removed."

Okay, so now this is supposed to be super hydrating. It's not. This I have to say is one of the worst lip balm products I have ever tried.

This product made my lips extremely dry, like, drier than they were before I applied it. My lips are the driest they have been this whole winter. My lips are so chapped that the skin is coming off, yeah I know, gross.

The product also comes off super fast. After about 15-20 minutes of wearing it, it's gone. I don't know where it goes, but it's gone.

This review makes me sad, because I really love the color.
I would give this product a 1.5 out of 5 based on the claims of hydration.

Now, based on the color alone it's about a 4 out of 5.

If you guys have tried these lip products out or have tried super amazing drugstore lip balms let me know!

Thanks for reading this quick little blog post.

Monthly Favorites: October 2013

My Favorite beauty products for the month of October

Today I will be talking about my favorite things for the month of October. I didn't do a favorites post for September because there was nothing new that I had tried and I didn't want to write about the same things again. But this past month I changed up a few things and I wanted to share with you what I was loving for the month of October.

I'm going to start off with my favorite lip combination. I have been using the L'Oreal Color Riche lipstick in the color #174 "Rose Taffeta." This color is so pretty, it's one of those "my lip color but better" colors. It is the perfect pink shade, and no matter what eye look I have this matches perfectly. The formula of the lipstick is smooth and moisturizing. It is my favorite everyday color.

I pair the lipstick with the Revlon Color Burst lipgloss in the color #002 "Crystal Lilac." This gloss has has almost the same pink shade as the L'Oreal lipstick but what makes it interesting is the purple sheen that it has. The purple sheen is very subtle, you can't see it on the lips but it gives an extra little touch. I really love these two lip products together. The gloss is pigmented enough that I even use it on its own sometimes.

My favorite foundation combination for this past month has been the L'Oreal True Match foundation in the shade "Natural Buff N3" and the MAC Studio Fix Fluid in the shade NC35.
I am in between shades right now as we move into fall and winter, so I have been using these two foundations together to make the perfect color for my skin right now. I love the True Match foundation, with one layer of the foundation I can get a light to medium coverage and it still looks very natural and not caked on.
I usually use more of the True Match foundation and a much smaller amount of the MAC foundation. But together these two foundations give me great coverage and looks amazing on the skin.

To blend the foundation into my skin I have been using the Beauty Blender sponge that I got from Sephora. I love the way that this sponge makes my foundation look. It makes blending the two foundations so easy. When I use the beauty blender I get an airbrushed finish. I just love it!

I have been using this next product pretty much everyday for the month of October, and it is the MAC Paint Pot in the color "Soft Ochre." This is the perfect base for eyeshadows. It covers the discoloration on my eyelids just like a concealer would, but it doesn't crease throughout the day, and it makes the eyeshadows that I put on top of it look amazing!

Another MAC product I have been using everyday is an eyeshadow, it is called Wedge. This is the perfect crease color. I usually apply this color into my natural crease with a big fluffy blending brush before applying any other color. By doing that it makes it so easy for me to go back and blend the darker colors from my lid and also the lighter color that I put under my brow. It is absolutely the perfect color to blend with.

My last favorite for the month of October is the Essie nail polishes, yes, all of them. I love the formula of these nail polishes, they go on super smooth and dry pretty quickly. I love that I can build up the color and it doesn't get all goopy and gross. The color selection is amazing, there is a color for whatever mood you are in. I am very happy with all the color that I own, and I can't wait to keep adding to the collection.

That is it for my October Favorites. I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you are having a great start to this holiday season!

:)
