September Beauty Favorites

I can't believe how fast this month went by. But here we are, so I wanted to share with you some of my favorite beauty products for this past month.

I have been using these products everyday, as part of my makeup routine. Check out my YouTube channel for more beauty videos!

The first product I have been using every single day is the Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation. I have mine in the color Beige. This foundation just makes me skin look better.

Next is the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette. Check out my review comparing this palette with the Anastasia Contour Kit here: Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette VS Anastasia Contour Kit

The next product I have been loving is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I have the colors 20, 15 and 10. These are great as cream highlighters.

The lip liner that I have been obsessed with, that I use every day is one I got from Sally's. It is called Beautique Lip Liner in the color Natural. This is the perfect shade of nude for my skin tone.

The last thing I talk about in my video is the Smashbox Full Exposure Mini Palette. The colors are super pigmented. I love how small and easy this palette is. Perfect for everyday.

My Bonus favorite if the month is the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer. I have been using this everyday this month after not using it all summer. I have to say this really helps the foundation stay on and beautiful all day. I'm glad I started using this primer. It is just as good as any high end primer, and the best part is that it's affordable.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and video! Stay tuned for many more fall related videos coming soon!

Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette VS Anastasia Contour Kit

Today I wanted to compare for you the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette against the Anastasia Contour Kit. I have had the KVD product for a few months now, and I really like this palette. I wrote a full review on the Anastasia Contour Kit in one of my last posts, you can check that out here: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette Review

So originally I got sucked into the YouTube vortex and I bought the Anastasia Contour Kit a few weeks after it was released. I thought I liked it because it worked well enough. But after about 1-2 months, I wasn't really reaching for it as much. And it turned into one of those forgotten palettes that lives in the back of the drawer.

Then I decided on a whim to get the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette. When I started using this palette, I immediately noticed how much better it was then the Anastasia Contour Kit.

Here are my reasons why the KVD Shade and Light palette wins over the Anastasia Contour Kit.

Numero One, there is a ton more product in the Kat Von D palette as opposed to the Contour Kit. This picture clearly shows the size difference:

Number dos, the powders in the S&L palette are so smooth and silky, I cant even believe it! I usually powder my face before applying any contour powder, but with how smooth these powders are, even if you go in right after foundation it won't be streaky or patchy.

Now with the Contour kit, even if I powdered before applying it the result would be blotchy and patchy, and it was a nightmare to blend the contour shades out. To make this work, I would start with as little product as possible and slowly build it up.

To sum it all up, I am all for the contour shades in the Kat Von D palette over the Anastasia palette.

Now the thing that I didn't like in either of the palettes is the highlighting shades. In the Anastasia Contour Kit, the light shades did nothing on my skin. When I say nothing, I mean it was like I didn't apply anything. Even the shimmery shade had basically no effect on my skin.

In the Kat Von D palette, I feel like the highlighting colors are just off. Like the yellow is too yellow and the pink is too pink. I must say these hardly showed up on my skin either.

And using either of these highlights to set my under-eye concealer, was just a nightmare. It was crease-fest before I even finished the rest of my face.

But overall, I would have to give it to the Kat Von D palette!

What are your opinions on these two palette? Which one is your favorite? Let me know!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review

Today I will be reviewing the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. This palette has been out for a while now. So I hope you guys enjoy this review and be sure to leave your comments and thoughts on this product or any other fun makeup things that you think I should try.

To begin the review I have to talk about the scent. This palette smells amazingggg! It smells just like chocolate. If you haven't smelled this palette, I urge you to visit your nearest Sephora or Ulta and take a whiff of this palette.
Although this might seem like a gimmick (which it totally is) it makes the palette a little more interesting.

So on to the most important part, the colors. This palette has 16 colors with two of those being a shimmery highlight and a matte highlight. One of my favorite things about this palette is that it has both a matte and shimmery highlight. This makes it so convenient for traveling because you have 2 highlights in one palette.

Another thing I really enjoy about this palette is that it has many different colors in it. It has the very classic light and dark browns, but it also has a very cool pink and warmer brown, a cooler sort of purple silver color, some very pretty champagne, gold and copper colors.
With all the different ranges of tones in these colors this palette can be very versatile and easy to use every day.

I love that this palette has basically every color that you could need to create any neutral eye look. The Chocolate Bar would be perfect to take on trips because all the colors you would need are in one palette.

Now on to the color payoff on these eyeshadows. I absolutely love the way that these colors apply to the skin. With or without a primer the colors are vibrant and very easy to blend, even the matte colors. The shadows are very smooth and silky. I love that I don't need to use a primer, even on the shimmery colors. There is a little fall out if you don't tap off your brush before you apply it, but it's not terrible.

The staying power is really nice as well. I usually have the eyeshadows on all day, and they don't seem to move. If you have greasier eyelids or need to make sure the colors don't move I would suggest to use a primer.

All in all this palette is a total winner in my book. I have been using it every single day from very simple easy looks to more sultry and smokey looks.

I give this palette a 9 out of 10. I give it a 9 and not a 10 because somehow this palette ended up breaking on me. I'm really not sure how that happened because it lives on my vanity table and doesn't move from that spot. But non the less, the lid has completely come off and I can't find a way to fix it other than some bright green washi tape.

I hope this review was helpful to you. If you guys have tried this palette or the newer Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette, be sure to leave your thoughts on these products. I would love to hear your opinions.

Planner Sticker Haul & Plan With Me!

I have been totally obsessed with my planner and decorating it. I never imagined all the fun stuff there was for planner enthusiasts like me. I must say Etsy is a great place to find anything and everything planner related.

I have had my Erin Condren Life Planner for almost a year now. check out the review I wrote on it here:  Erin Condren Life Planner Review

I had stopped using it for a few months around the beginning of the summer. I don't really remember why. But after being influenced by some of my favorite Youtubers like Elle Fowler, Jen from Pretty Neat Living, and Meg from Ciaoobelllaxo to start planning and decorating, I was hooked again.
Before I discovered these stickers, I had just been using colored pens. I would just write in my planner and have everything color coordinated. Now I have a super fun way of keeping track of what I have to do. This is also quite therapeutic and stress relieving.

I did all my sticker shopping on Esty.com. This is a great place to get stickers that are hand made and there are so many creative options. Some etsy shop owners even personalize stickers for you.
The shops that I places my first orders from where:

Sweet Bean Plans
Stickers By Sandy
The Pretty Planner
Vintage Gypsy Road
Two Lil' Bees

(I'm still waiting for stickers from Vintage Gypsy Road and Two Lil' Bees. I'll haul those with my next order.)

I think I'm in love! These stickers are just so cute! I really am itching to place another huge order soon. These are just so fun, and I have been really enjoying planning and decorating my planner.

Starting off with Sweet Bean Plans, I loved these stickers. And I especially loved the super fast shipping! I got these less than a week after ordering them. I was also really impressed with the extras I received with my order, I was definitely not expecting it, but she gave me a whole sheet of stickers!
These are the stickers I ordered:

These are the stickers that were extra:

My next order was from Stickers by Sandy. I got these fun social media stickers and also these dollar signs.

From The Pretty Planner I ordered these tiny stickers that have cute mini versions of stethoscopes, gas pumps and grocery carts in a bunch of colors. The Pretty Planner also included a super cute fall themed thank you sheet.

I also wanted to share my spread for the week I started using my new stickers. Here is what my planner looked like last week, before I got my stickers. Like I said, I would just use pens to color coordinate my tasks. I think that this just looks a little boring.

I still use the same color coordination but now I also include the stickers. I think the planer spread looks way more fun this week. I really enjoy using the stickers to keep track of and plan my days a little better.

I hope that you enjoyed this little sticker haul and a look at my planner now that I'm using these little stickers. I cant wait to start sharing my weekly spreads with you guys. Let me know what Etsy shop is your favorite for planner stickers!

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Review

Everyone has been on this huge Anastasia Beverly Hills kick recently and of course I also hopped on the bandwagon. I want to talk a little bit of the Contour Kit by Anastasia Beverly Hills.
This palette retails for $40 and I got mine at Sephora.
I've had this palette for a few months now and I've even used one of the colors so much I hit pan on it.

I have a love-hate relationship with this palette. I love it because it is so convenient, it is a small and compact palette. What I don't like about this palette is that the colors are a little bit too orange for me.

I think that this palette was over hyped in the YouTube beauty community. It's not a bad contour kit, but it's also not the best thing in the world. I find myself reaching for other bronzers more than the contour kit. It might be because I can't use three of the six colors. To me this is kind of a waste because I'm not getting my money's worth out of all the colors, as far as for personal use goes.

The powders themselves were okay, but not anything special. Blending these in could be a pain, if you apply a little at a time and build it up then it could work. The pigmentation on the contour shades was very good. The light colors I thought, were a little chalky, and the highlight with the shimmer wasn't the best. I think I favor the contour colors over the highlight shades.

If you are using these powders I would suggest that you powder the foundation before going in to contour. Putting dark shades over wet or semi-wet foundation will make it a nightmare to blend out.

I noticed that the highlight colors are the worst for setting concealer under the eyes. I tried this for months and my concealer would crease every single time! It was so frustrating. I would not recommend to use the highlight shades for setting liquids or creams.

I also don't like that the light colors are so similar to the color of my skin that it was a waste of product to use it as a highlight since it basically did nothing.
If you have a deeper tone of skin, like a medium tone, then I think this palette would be great for you. The dark colors are warm enough to show up and the light colors will also show up because they are light enough.

Now to use this pallets on clients, that's a different story. This would be perfect for someone that does freelance work or is a makeup artist. I have used this pallet when I freelance and it is the best thing ever. Having to carry only one palette that has the colors I need for most of the people I work on is a great way to save time and space.

Overall I'm not saying that this pallets is bad, because It's not. I think you should buy this kit if you are a freelance makeup artist and you will be using it on other people. As far as personal use, I didn't really like it on my skin tone and coloring.

I do know that Anastasia Beverly Hills also has a ton of different contour and highlight shades that you can swap in and out of this palette. I think these are sold individually and not in a ready made kit.

Did you like this palette? What highlighting and contouring palette is your favorite? Let me know!

I really hope this review was helpful!
